Ten Partners named to 2021 Who’s Who Legal lists

Ten Bates White partners have been named to the 2021 Who’s Who Legal (WWL) lists. Nine Partners were named to the Competition Economists list and one to the Insurance & Reinsurance list. Being named to these lists signifies that the individuals are renowned for world-leading expertise. Bates White is among the top six firms in the number of Partners named to the list.

Bates White experts on the Competition Economists list include Drs. B. Douglas Bernheim, Cory Capps, Eric Emch, Joseph Farrell, Nicholas Hill, Robert Marshall, Leslie Marx, George A. Rozanski, and Michael Whinston. Drs. Bernheim, Capps, Emch, Farrell, Hill, Rozanski, and Whinston were also recognized as Thought Leaders in Competition. In particular, that Dr. Farrell is a go-to expert for testimony and economic analysis on high-profile merger and antitrust investigations; Drs. Whinston and Rozanski were both mentioned for their deep expertise in price-fixing matters; Dr. Hill’s “deep knowledge of the economic tools and methods used by antitrust enforcers to analyze mergers” was lauded, and Dr. Capps was noted as “revered for his encyclopedic understanding” of healthcare competition.

Drs. Farrell and Whinston were also named Global Elite Thought Leaders in Competition, which WWL defines as being “truly outstanding practitioners and the very best in their field.”

Managing Partner Dr. Charles H. Mullin was again named to the Insurance & Reinsurance experts list. Since 2016, WWL has identified Dr. Mullin as a Thought Leader in insurance and reinsurance; since 2018, Dr. Mullin has been named on WWL’s Thought Leader–Global Elite list.

Who’s Who Legal’s Competition Economists include consultants, expert witnesses, and advisers on economics from around the world who have performed exceptionally well. Winners are nominated, researched, and vetted by clients and peers within their areas of specialty and are considered the pre-eminent names in the field.
