Members of the BWProud network plan educational events to raise awareness of issues that uniquely impact members of the LGBTQ+ community both in and out of the workplace. For example, in conjunction with Pride Month, we held an educational program on the History of Pride.
What we do
Education and awareness
Community involvement
BWProud organizes fundraisers through the firm’s Community Connection program to support organizations and programs that empower LGBTQ+ youth, both in DC and nationwide. We have supported the Trevor Project, which provides 24/7 crisis support services to LGBTQ+ young people across the country, and SMYAL (Supporting and Mentoring Youth Advocates and Leaders), which supports LGBTQ+ youth in the DC metro area.
Networking and support
Allies and members of the LGBTQ+ community come together to network and discuss relevant issues. The network hosted a “confections and conversations” event where participants discussed code-switching and the intersection of identities while enjoying baked goods from Three Fifty, a local LGBT-owned bakery.
