Vault named Bates White’s Summer Consultant Program the #1 internship for consulting firms and #13 for all firms. This is the fourth time the Bates White program has been ranked #1 for consulting firms.
Bates White offers a 10-week program for Summer Consultants that includes extensive training, hands-on quantitative and qualitative client work on actual cases, mentoring by firm leaders, social events, and opportunities to organize a community service project. Summer Consultants attended regular training sessions in Stata, R, and Introduction to Litigation, as well as social events like a DC United game, sailing trip on the Potomac, and dinner with senior leadership. They also organized a community service project involving a Balloon Wars competition that raised more than $15,000 for Innovations for Poverty Action.
Vault provides information and career advice to professionals in the consulting industry. The rankings are based on a survey of approximately 13,000 interns from more than 140 programs across the United States who answered weighted questions related to areas such as interview process, quality of life, compensation and benefits, diversity, career development, and full-time employment prospects.
When completing the survey, Bates White employees consistently cited the firm’s culture and career development. One former Summer Consultant stated, “The work was intellectually challenging, and the people within Bates White are incredibly supportive. Throughout the internship, I felt that my assignments were important, and my managers made the bigger picture of my work very clear. I felt constantly challenged and rarely overwhelmed by the work I was given.”
