Pacific Gas & Electric testimony before California Public Utilities Commission

Amanda Kurzendoerfer testified on behalf of Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E) at a hearing before the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC). The hearing concerned the approval of a settlement agreement between PG&E and the Safety and Enforcement Division of the CPUC related to PG&E’s Locate and Mark practices. Bates White analyzed data from PG&E’s ticket management system to assess the timeliness of millions of tickets issued for excavator requests to locate and mark underground gas and electric lines. The testimony reflected Dr. Kurzendoerfer’s June 2019 report, in which she described the methodology to evaluate timeliness and provided an estimate of the number of late tickets. The CPUC approved the settlement.
