Hawaii Public Utilities Commission renewable energy analyses

Vincent Musco submitted two reports to the Hawaii Public Utilities Commission. The first report, regarding the Kupono Solar project—a 42-MW solar photovoltaic generator paired with a 42-MW, 4-hour lithium ion battery energy storage system to be built at the Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickham on Oahu—assessed the selection of the project; the negotiations of the power purchase agreement; and the rates, terms, and conditions contained in that agreement. A second report addressed the results of a competitive procurement of grid services from customer-sited distributed energy resources, also on Oahu.
