Spanakos v. Aronson

Scott Lobel testified on behalf of Mark J. Spanakos in connection with his complaint against Auto Secure for patent infringement. Mr. Spanakos owns a vehicle security patent that requires the use of a fingerprint to enable a vehicle to start, thus keeping it from being stolen. After the court found that Auto Secure was infringing Mr. Spanakos’s patent, Mr. Lobel was retained to testify on damages resulting from Auto Secure’s infringement. His report analyzed the Georgia-Pacific factors, including the hypothetical negotiation framework, to determine a reasonable royalty as compensation.
