Evaluation of payments in Florida usual and customary rates case

In Broward v. Celtic Insurance, Arun Sharma submitted an expert report matter on behalf of the defendant, a subsidiary of Centene Corporation. The plaintiff, a hospital system in Broward County, Florida, alleged that Centene’s Ambetter Marketplace plan failed to correctly pay for inpatient and outpatient emergency services while it was a non-participating provider in Ambetter’s network. Arun evaluated whether Ambetter’s payments were consistent with the usual and customary rates defined by Florida law and estimated hypothetical damages based on various benchmarks.
