Teollisuuden Voima Oyj v. Areva-Siemens

Glenn George served as a consulting expert on behalf of the claimant in Teollisuuden Voima Oyj v. Areva-Siemens, a large international arbitration matter (2008–2010) under ICSIC rules concerning delays and cost overruns in the Olkiluoto 3 EPR nuclear power plant construction project in Finland. Dr. George's analysis focused on the potential motive of the reactor vendor to enter into a fixed-price, turnkey contract as a means to secure first-mover advantage, learning curve effects, and market share. In 2018, the respondent settled the matter by agreeing to pay €450 million ($554 million) to claimant.
