Class action litigation involving automobile dealers
Bates White was retained to analyze damages arising from Volkswagen’s “Clean Diesel” scandal. While Volkswagen had settled with classes of consumers harmed by the false advertising, this matter addressed harm suffered by a class of rival dealers alleging that they were harmed through lost sales of competing automobiles caused by Volkswagen’s conduct. Bates White helped with preliminary damages work and supported an expert on behalf of the class of dealers.
