Ensco PLC–Rowan Companies merger

Retained by Ensco and Rowan, two offshore drilling firms, to provide economic analysis of the likely effect of their proposed merger on rig provision in the US portion of the Gulf of Mexico. The team used the travel histories of individual jack-up rigs—brought to life using dynamic maps—to show that competition flows across geographic areas. The Antitrust Division of the Department of Justice closed its investigation of the proposed merger without issuing a second request.
