Andrew R. Evans was the Practice Chair of Bates White's Mass Torts Practice for six years. He is a CFA charter holder and a recognized expert on legacy liability valuation, financial risk assessment, and insurance allocation. He has more than 20 years of experience providing advice and expert analysis on issues involving mass torts, (re)insurance coverage, alternative risk transfer transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and financial valuation matters.
Drew has authored expert reports and declarations as part of contract disputes, state insurance proceedings, federal bankruptcy reorganizations, Alternative Dispute Resolutions, arbitrations, mediations, and in support of corporate valuations, mergers and acquisitions, and divestitures. He has facilitated settlements in bankruptcy and coverage disputes related to asbestos, environmental losses, sexual abuse claims, medical devices, defective products, and other mass tort litigation with values ranging from the low millions to multiple billions of dollars. Drew also advises business, insurers, corporate boards, and other interests in strategies for seeking global resolution to their torts through various processes including mass settlements, reorganizations, and sales.
Drew was named the Lexology Client Choice Award winner for Insurance and Reinsurance Expert Witnesses in the United States for two consecutive years (2024 and 2025). In 2025, he also was named by Lexology as a Global Elite Thought Leader, and since 2024 has appeared on Lexology Index's list (formerly known as Who’s Who Legal) of leading insurance and reinsurance expert witnesses.
