What you’ll do
Use your PhD skills to solve complex economic, financial, and business problems across a variety of industries:
- Conduct economic research and empirical analysis on issues like monopolization, price-fixing, damages, and valuation.
- Work on litigation, investigative, regulatory, or policy matters to uncover insights and strategies that create meaningful solutions for clients.
- Collaborate closely with senior staff and academic experts to address critical challenges for Fortune 500 companies, government agencies, and law firms.
How you'll grow
- Jump Start program: Designed to help new Economists transition from academia to consulting, this program offers personalized support through a Jump Start Sponsor and a Peer Coach, as well as monthly networking sessions and coffee chats with firm leaders.
- Tailored training: Our training programs are designed to help you master programming languages like R, Spark, Python, and Stata, as well as statistical techniques such as regressions and econometrics. You’ll also sharpen essential consulting skills, including writing, research, and critical thinking.
- Mentorship & feedback: You’ll receive personalized guidance through regular feedback and dedicated mentoring to help you grow.
- BWAccelerate management program: When you reach the Senior Economist level, you’ll join BWAccelerate, our management training program designed to develop leadership and managerial skills.
- Advanced learning: Through our Econometrics Education Program initiatives such as a reading group, a seminar series, and a visiting scholar program, you’ll deepen your knowledge, collaborate with colleagues, and stay at the forefront of economic consulting.

Here’s what to expect:
First-round interview (virtual):
- Meet with senior leaders to discuss your experience and academic background.
- Share insights from your Job Market Paper (JMP).
Second-round interview (virtual or in-person at our office in DC):
- Deliver a 90-minute JMP seminar to showcase your research skills. (If you have prior work experience, the JMP presentation may not be required.)
- Participate in interviews with employees from across the firm.
