Lexology Index names Andrew Evans and Charles Mullin to 2026 list of leading insurance experts

Lexology Index has once again recognized Bates White partners Drew Evans and Charlie Mullin as leading insurance expert witnesses, naming them to its 2026 list of leading lawyers and experts in the sector from around the world. Mr. Evans and Dr. Mullin were both designated Global Elite Thought Leaders, an honor awarded to only about 5% of practitioners included in the report.

This marks the ninth consecutive year that Dr. Mullin has been recognized as a Global Elite Thought Leader in this category—an accolade earned by only seven individuals in the United States. In addition, Dr. Mullin is a four-time recipient of Lexology Index’s Insurance Expert of the Year award and has published extensively on applied and theoretical econometrics and labor economics in peer-reviewed journals.

In addition to his Lexology Index recognition, Mr. Evans received Lexology’s 2026 Client Choice Award for Insurance and Reinsurance Expert Witnesses in the United States. This marks the third consecutive year he has earned this distinction. According to Lexology Index, Mr. Evans continues to garner high praise for his thoughtful analysis and compelling presentations at depositions, arbitrations, and hearings. His expertise in liability valuation, financial risk assessment, and insurance allocation has made him a sought-after expert witness in complex litigation and arbitration matters.

Lexology Index’s rigorous selection process includes interviews with peers and clients to identify the most distinguished professionals in the field. The insurance expert witnesses designation recognizes individuals who rank highly for their courtroom experience and for delivering the highest-quality expertise on insurance coverage and claims, loss allocation, and damages.

In addition to their insurance work, Dr. Mullin and Mr. Evans continue to actively provide strategic advisory and valuation services tied to mass torts. Dr. Mullin recently submitted a rebuttal report in the Aldrich Pump and Murray Boiler bankruptcy proceeding as part of an asbestos claims estimation trial set for August. And Mr. Evans just completed a set of due diligence evaluations for companies assessing their risks tied to potential PFAS and talc liabilities.
