Nicholas Hill was retained by Rite Aid Corporation to assist in clearing its acquisition of Bartell Drugs, a Seattle-area family-owned drugstore chain, before the Federal Trade Commission's Northwest regional office and the Washington State Attorney General's Office. The team assessed potential competitive impacts on local pharmacies and evaluated whether the transaction would increase bargaining leverage for the merged entity in negotiations with pharmacy benefits managers. Both agencies closed their investigations of the merger without a second request.
