Sam Malech, MA, MBA
Sam Malech specializes in market design and analysis, Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) enforcement litigation, and state-level regulatory proceedings. He has directed and performed technical analyses and aided in preparing testimony for matters including data center developer engagements with utilities and regulators, litigated proceedings in the oil and gas sector, utility-scale energy and capacity procurements, and cost-allocation mechanisms.
Sam has extensive experience with FERC, having been a Senior Economist in the Office of Enforcement, where he oversaw market surveillance and supported the investigation and litigation of market manipulation cases involving energy, capacity, virtual trading, FTRs, and other derivatives.
