In May 2026, Bates White finalized four reports for the Mississippi Public Utilities Staff (MPUS) evaluating regulatory filings submitted by Mississippi’s major state-regulated electric utilities—Entergy Mississippi, LLC, and Mississippi Power Company. The utilities’ reports present their annual plans and proposed forecasts to meet customer demands. Bates White has reviewed these plans for approximately 10 years.

Capital expenditure filings relate to utilities’ ongoing and proposed infrastructure spending. Demand-side management filings focus on initiatives that help customers use less electricity, lower their bills, and reduce use during peak demand periods. Bates White experts reviewed both demand-side management and capital expenditures in the utilities’ filings.

As the evaluator, Bates White reviewed the utilities’ documentation, analyzed planned and actual expenditures, evaluated the reasonableness and customer impacts of proposed investments, and developed findings and recommendations for MPUS. The assessments incorporated expanded analysis of the customer impacts associated with new large-load customers, such as data centers, with a focus on how related transmission and distribution investments are identified, recovered, and allocated among the new customers driving the investments and existing utility customers.

Bates White filed its reports with Commission, which has authority to approve the plans.
