Makeda Murray co-chairs the Mass Torts Practice at Bates White. With extensive experience managing and analyzing large, complex datasets, Makeda leads matters involving damages estimation, liability valuation, and forecasting. She has developed sophisticated claims databases used in expert testimony and by counsel in both litigation and settlement for numerous clients. She has provided expert opinions into the methodologies used to process and standardize data, ensuring clarity and reliability. Her expertise includes claims data processing, management, and analysis, as well as preparing liability forecasts for asbestos and other product-related claims. Her work spans industry sectors such as asbestos, insurance, automotive parts, and manufacturing.
Prior to joining Bates White, Makeda was a senior actuarial analyst for a leading global professional services firm, where she evaluated pension benefit redesign options, developed yearly funding and expense valuation results, and analyzed claims data for corporate clients.
