Nicholas Hill and Dennis McWeeny speak at Cooley’s Antitrust Tech Summit

Nicholas Hill and Dennis McWeeny will be panelists at the 2026 Antitrust Tech Summit, hosted by Cooley.

At 10:00–10:50 am (PT), Nicholas Hill will join “Panel 1: Technology Mergers in the Trump Administration.”

• Initial assumptions that the Trump administration would pursue tech merger cases in a way similar to its predecessor have receded, with enforcement instead reflecting a more conventional approach. Even so, the administration continues to scrutinize technology transactions, while state attorneys general have become more influential in antitrust reviews. This panel will touch on key questions like—how might this enforcement landscape develop through the administration’s remaining years? What aspects of tech acquisitions are drawing antitrust attention?

Dr. Hill’s fellow panelists include Paula Blizzard of the Office of the California Attorney General and Peggy Femenella of the Federal Trade Commission. Norman Armstrong of Cooley will moderate.

At 11:00–11:50 am (PT), Dennis McWeeny will join “Panel 2: Antitrust Risk and Compliance in an Ever-Shifting Regulatory and Dynamic Market.”

• In fast-moving technology sectors, competition lawyers and corporate counsel must adapt to shifting antitrust standards and enforcement priorities. This panel will explore how to manage antitrust exposure as both the law and the marketplace continue to evolve.
