Vincent Musco speaks on utility cost recovery in BARBRI webinar

Utilities are increasing their spending on transmission, distribution, and generation infrastructure. Less certain is whether they can successfully recover their investments. In a live BARBRI webinar, Vincent Musco will speak on “Utility Cost Recovery for Grid Investment: Prudence, CWIP, Riders, Overruns, Abandoned Projects.” The session will include a live Q&A.

Mr. Musco and his co-panelists aim to explore the legal and regulatory framework governing a utility’s ability to recoup expenses. Topics include the prudence and used-and-useful criteria, construction work in progress, riders and tracking mechanisms, project cost increases, and recovery issues involving canceled or abandoned ventures. The webinar will highlight the value of developing a well-supported evidentiary record documenting management judgments, alternatives evaluated, and ongoing project governance.

Mr. Musco’s fellow speakers include Bob Sherrier of the Southern Environmental Law Center and Adrienne L. Thompson of Troutman Pepper Locke LLP.
