Leemore Dafny and Alice Ndikumana participate in 13th annual ASHEcon

Partner Leemore Dafny and Manager Alice Ndikumana will participate in the 13th annual conference of the American Society of Health Economists. 

• June 17, 3:30–5:00 pm—Dr. Dafny chairs the session “The Impact of Vertical and Horizontal Integration on Care Provision, Quality, and Cost,” which will discuss three papers in the health systems and healthcare financing track of the conference.
• June 18, 10:15–11:45 am—Dr. Dafny presents on the panel “Being a Health Economist: Working in Different Types of Departments and Schools.” Panelists will discuss how to succeed in different types of departments or schools and how the requirements to get tenure differ among them.
• June 18, 3:30–5:00 pm—Dr. Ndikumana chairs the session “New Evidence on Health Care M&A.” Three papers on competition in healthcare markets will be discussed.
• June 18, 3:30–5:00 pm—Dr. Dafny chairs the session “Insurers and Patient Steering—How Do Networks or Direct Ownership Impact Choices and Outcomes?” which will discuss three papers that address the impact of ownership on patient choice and outcomes of care.
