Jinwen Wang specializes in the development of economic models and the construction and analysis of extensive, complex data sets. Jinwen has extensive experience in statistical modeling, data analysis, sample design, and forecasting. She has worked on many cases in areas such as damages estimation and mass tort claims valuation in the context of bankruptcy procedures, settlement negotiations, and strategic consulting. She is a member of the Data Science Committee and supports the firm’s initiative to incorporate data science tools into data processing and analysis.

Prior to joining Bates White, Jinwen conducted research in applied microeconomics, applied econometrics, and labor economics, with a focus on studying how family environment and education systems contribute to human capital development and shape education inequality. As part of her research, she analyzed extensive education data sets, developed economic models, and conducted counterfactual policy analysis based on estimated models.
