Bryant Hopkins, PhD
Bryant Hopkins specializes in developing methodologies for valuation and forecasting potential liabilities that support expert analyses in emerging torts. He has applied his experience working with large data sets, economic modeling, statistical analysis, and sampling to help clients address new legal questions across a wide range of mass tort matters in the context of bankruptcy, settlement support, and pre-litigation consulting.
Prior to joining Bates White, Bryant conducted research on changes in student achievement and social outcomes across learning modalities during the COVID-19 pandemic and the efficacy of special education services on various student outcomes in New York City. As part of this research, he worked with large student-level datasets to design and implement methodologies that get close to causal estimates under suboptimal circumstances. Bryant also has both graduate and undergraduate teaching experience in economics.
Bryant has continued this research while at Bates White, working on one of the firm’s pro bono matters aimed at ensuring students with a disability in Washington, DC, public schools receive all the resources guaranteed to them under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act.
