At trial, enforcers successfully prevented the Northeast Alliance and JetBlue/Spirit deals. Yet more recently, Korean Air/Asiana, Allegiant/Sun Country, and others received clearance.

At the 2026 Forum on Air and Space Law Annual Meeting, Partner Nicholas Hill will speak on the panel: “Antitrust Update - Clear Skies Ahead?” Panelists will explore if airline consolidation, via competitor collaborations or mergers, has the “wind at its back—or do more storm clouds lie ahead?”
