Speaking Engagement

Leemore Dafny speaks on two ASHEcon panels about data gaps in research and working in academia

There has been growing recognition that new data resources are needed to address emerging issues related to healthcare equity, access, quality of care, and markets. While both public and private data sources exist, data gaps remain. Those data are needed to address emerging policy issues. On June 12, Partner Leemore Dafny will present on the policy roundtable “Closing Data Gaps in Health Economics Research.” Panelists will discuss the need for more robust data to address federal priorities, examine federal efforts to fill data gaps, and highlight remaining challenges. Dr. Dafny’s co-panelists include

  • Scott Smith, Office of Health Policy
  • Herbert S. Wong, Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality
  • Katherine Hempstead, Robert Wood Johnson Foundation
  • Zeynal Karaca (moderator), Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality

Dr. Dafny’s co-panelists include

  • Ellen R. Meara, National Bureau of Economic Research
  • David Slusky, University of Kansas
  • Anirban Basu, University of Washington
