Charles Mullin speaks on “the new mass torts” at 2025 Distressed Investing Conference

As the landscape of mass tort liabilities evolves, Chapter 11 has emerged as a method of interest. Chair and Partner Charles Mullin will share his expertise in the 2025 Distressed Investing Conference, speaking on the panel “The New Mass TortsFrom Here to Eternity.” Dr. Mullin and his co-panelists will examine the use of Chapter 11 to approach complicated mass tort liabilities in the post-Purdue era. Forever chemical torts and its complexities will also be discussed.

The speakers will investigate timing, valuation, and evidentiary challengeswhile being mindful of implications for upcoming restructurings. The discussion will spotlight arising strategies and limitations.

Dr. Mullin’s fellow panelists include the Hon. Michael Kaplan, Chief US Bankruptcy Judge of the District of New Jersey, and Ken Ziman of Paul, Weiss. Andy Dietderich of Sullivan & Cromwell will moderate.
