Craig Roach is the founder and President of Boston Pacific Company, Inc., an economic consulting firm specializing in the energy sector and located in Washington, DC. Boston Pacific joined forces with the Bates White Energy Practice as of November 1, 2016 to further help clients with an even broader range of services and a deeper pool of expertise.
Dr. Roach has forty years of experience advising a broad range of clients regarding investments, policies, and litigation concerning the electricity and natural gas businesses. He advises on major power resource decisions for technologies ranging from natural gas-fired combined-cycle facilities, to GCC and carbon capture projects, to on- and off-shore wind. He also guides wide-ranging work on electricity auction and market design and monitoring, and he has been an advisor to the Southwest Power Pool Board of Directors for twelve years.
Dr. Roach is a nationally recognized expert and has appeared before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission on more than 30 occasions, before 27 state regulatory commissions, in federal and state courts of law, in arbitrations, and before three Canadian provinces.
Dr. Roach’s comprehensive history of electricity was published by BenBella Books in 2017. It is titled Simply Electrifying: The Technology That Transformed the World from Benjamin Franklin to Elon Musk.
