Bates White Recognized by GCR "Economics 20" and International Who's Who
Bates White has been named in Global Competition Review's prestigious "Economics 20," while eight of Bates White’s competition economists have been ranked in GCR’s sister publication, the annual International Who's Who of Competition Lawyers and Economists.
This is the fifth consecutive year Bates White has made the "Economics 20," which lists the world's top economic consultancies offering expert opinion and analysis on antitrust and competition policy matters. Firms are selected through an independent survey assessing firm size, market reputation, recent work in the field, and number of economists nominated for the International Who's Who.
"Economics 20" recognized Bates White for its high degree of specialization, as over 70% of the firm's economists are focused in the field of competition economics. Bates White's strength in the health sector was also mentioned, particularly its support for the Federal Trade Commission in challenging a merger between Saltzer Medical Group and St. Luke's Health System and its advisory work to McKesson Corporation in its approved acquisition of PSS World Medical. Finally, the firm's heavy roster of behavioral work was highlighted, including its expert testimony on behalf of plaintiffs in Vitamin C antitrust litigation and on behalf of defendant Nestlé USA in the chocolate antitrust litigation matter.
Additionally, seven of Bates White's Partners and one Academic Affiliate were selected for inclusion in the 2014 International Who’s Who of Competition Economists list. The Bates White Partners are Douglas Bernheim, Cory Capps, Eric Emch, Joseph Farrell, Randal Heeb, George Rozanski, and Michael Whinston, along with Academic Affiliate Marius Schwartz.
Bates White’s Antitrust and Competition Practice consists of 91 competition specialists.
