Marc Scarcella has more than 10 years of experience as an economic consultant for litigation. He specializes in quantitative methods and their applications in dispute resolution, settlement negotiations, and litigation management and strategy. His experience advising clients in the areas of litigation strategy and settlement negotiations includes statistical analysis and forecasting of product liability, financial modeling of liquidity and solvency risk, equity valuation, insurance allocation and dispute resolution, personal injury and property damage claims management, and internal process control.
Prior to joining Bates White, Mr. Scarcella was Managing Director at Analysis Research Planning Corporation (ARPC), where he provided economic analyses and consultative services in 524(g) Chapter 11 bankruptcies for Fortune 500 companies, including Haliburton Co.; Honeywell International, Inc.; Owens Corning; and Federal-Mogul Corporation. In connection with these and other bankruptcy litigations, he regulary participated in negotiations involving insurance settlements and liquidation procedures for pending 524(g) trusts. Specifically, he has advised clients on matters of liability estimation and cash-flow management, as well as on asbestos trust claims processing procedures, policies, reporting, and valuation. In addition, Mr. Scarcella has consulted on matters in connection with other forms of environmental pollution, including those that involved silica exposure and manufacturing pollutants, as well as pharmaceutical and tobacco products litigation.
