Peter Kelso is an expert on asbestos bankruptcy law and toxic tort litigation. He has advised many of the top investment firms on Wall Street and has given numerous speeches on asbestos and other mass tort litigation for the financial and legal communities. Mr. Kelso has spoken about emerging legal issues at conferences hosted by the AEI-Brookings Institute, Goldman Sachs, Bear Stearns, Bank of America Securities, LexisNexis Butterworths, and Citigroup.
Prior to joining Bates White, Mr. Kelso was the former Senior Editor of the LexisNexis Mealey′s Asbestos Liability Report and founded LexisNexis′ Asbestos Bankruptcy Report and International Asbestos Liability Report. He conceived the idea of disseminating product-specific litigation information for Wall Street′s financial community and launched publications and conferences to support this. During efforts to pass a $140 billion federal trust fund for asbestos legislation, he advised corporations, insurers, and investors on the financial implications of the bill and its chances for passage.
