CHRISTOPHER GULICK, MBA

Principal

Christopher Gulick specializes in fuel markets, with a focus on natural gas supply and transportation contracting, operations, and portfolio planning; market assessments; natural gas demand and price forecasting; and developing and implementing fuel supply plans. With three decades of experience, Mr. Gulick has provided due diligence associated with fuel supply and transportation contracts; evaluated transactions in natural gas infrastructure and LNG facilities; developed fuel supplies for large end-users; advised on contracting for fuel supplies, transportation, and storage; and provided advisory services on the management of natural gas and fuel portfolios. As a consulting and a testifying expert, he has provided advice and testimony in a number of commercial disputes and regulatory proceedings.

Mr. Gulick played key executive roles in the start-up of AllEnergy Marketing Company (a retail energy marketing company) and in the acquisition of retail heating oil and propane companies.

Selected Experience

  • Served as an expert witness in the Portland Natural Gas Transmission System (PNGTS) rate case (RP08-306-000) on behalf of the PNGTS Shippers Group.
  • Submitted an expert report in support of the defendants opposition to the plaintiffs motions for class certification in the matter In re Western States Wholesale Natural Gas Antitrust Litigation MDL1566.
  • Served as expert witness on behalf of an LNG supplier seeking a price adjustment under an LNG supply agreement. Analyses and testimony covered netback calculations, loss estimates, and the calculation of the embedded option value of the buyer′s right to divert cargoes.
  • On behalf of JPMorgan Chase, provided expert testimony in civil litigation regarding the enforcement of guarantees of Enron′s performance under a number of forward natural gas sales contracts.
  • For the New England Gas Company (a division of Southern Union), provided expert testimony in regard to integrating the gas portfolios and operations of four recently acquired local distribution companies (LDCs).
  • Served as an expert witness in a gas marketing dispute on behalf of an energy marketer. Provided analyses that quantified the forward margins lost by the client due to a dispute with its supplier.
  • While working for Bay State Gas Company and Boston Gas Company, served as a company-sponsored witness in regulatory proceedings regarding integrated resource plans, natural gas acquisitions, gas costs, and transportation rates.
