George Rozanski, former U.S. Department of Justice
antitrust economist and section chief joins Bates White’s
Antitrust Practice
WASHINGTON, D.C., August 30, 2005—Bates White, LLC, a national
economic consulting firm, announced the addition of economics
expert Dr. George A. Rozanski as Partner in the Antitrust Practice.
Dr. Rozanski’s extensive background providing expert testimony
and antitrust analysis expands the expertise of the firm’s
Antitrust Practice, particularly in the area of mergers and acquisitions.
Prior to joining Bates White, Dr. Rozanski served as chief of
the economic regulatory section of the antitrust division of the
U.S. Department of Justice. In that role, he supervised the economic
analysis of proposed mergers and acquisitions, single-firm conduct,
and proposed changes in economic regulations and legislation.

Dr. Rozanski also has considerable experience analyzing competitive

industries. He served as a testifying expert in United States
v. Gillette Co., and submitted an affidavit in United
States v. Visa U.S.A. et al. Dr. Rozanski was recently awarded
the Attorney General's Award for Distinguished Service in recognition
of his contributions to the U.S. Department of Justice's victories
in United States. v. Microsoft Corp. He previously received
a Presidential Rank Award and the Antitrust Division’s William
F. Baxter Award.
