Bates White’s Community Connection Program
supports D.C. Central Kitchen
WASHINGTON, D.C., September 29, 2004—Bates White, a national
economics consulting firm, sponsored a chili cook-off and volunteer
day to support D.C. Central Kitchen, a D.C.-based organization
that uses food as a tool to strengthen bodies, empower minds,
and build communities.
As part of the Bates White Community Connection program, the chili
cook-off was used to raise funds and awareness for D.C. Central
Kitchen. Honorary judges included Robert L.E. Egger and Brian
MacNair, president and development manager of D.C. Central Kitchen,
respectively. All proceeds raised through entry and tasting fees
were donated to D.C. Central Kitchen. In addition, Bates White
employees spent time helping prepare food at D.C. Central Kitchen.
President of D.C. Central Kitchen, Robert L.E. Egger, said, "Bates
White’s chili cook-off captured the spirit of D.C. Central
Kitchen. We greatly appreciate Bates White employees’ enthusiasm
and efforts in volunteering their time and raising money for D.C.
Central Kitchen."
