Robert Marshall, Leslie Marx, and Matthew Raiff awarded Paul Geroski Best Article Prize for paper on cartel price announcements
Bates White Partners Robert C. Marshall, Leslie M. Marx, and Matthew E. Raiff were awarded the Paul Geroski Best Article Prize by the editors of the International Journal of Industrial Organization. This award is given to the authors of the two best papers published in the journal each year.
The paper “Cartel Price Announcements: The Vitamins Industry” explores the role of public price announcements in supporting collusive behavior and examines the data on public price announcements in the vitamins industry.
Dr. Marshall is head of the Economics Department at the Pennsylvania State University. He works closely with Bates White to provide intellectual leadership in antitrust litigation, particularly in the areas of antitrust liability and cartels. Dr. Marshall is an expert in industrial organization, applied game theory, auctions, procurements, and collusion.
Dr. Marx is a professor of economics at the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University. She is an expert in auctions, vertical contracting, antitrust liability, and cartels. Dr. Marx is well known for her innovative ideas in the areas of industrial organization, applied game theory, auctions, procurements, and collusion.
Dr. Raiff serves as an expert economic consultant on matters involving alleged anticompetitive conduct. In particular, he is a leading authority on cartels and has worked on a significant number of international cartels cases over the past decade. Dr. Raiff has also published on various topics related to auctions, procurements, and collusion.
