Global Competition Review names Bates White as a leading competition economics firm

For the third consecutive year, Global Competition Review has named Bates White in its "Economics 20," a listing of the world’s leading competition economics firms. Selection into this group of 20 firms is highly competitive and determined by an independent survey that analyzes the nominated firms’ size, presence of leading economists, recent client successes, historical pedigree, and market visibility.

Global Competition Review recognized Bates White’s work supporting Grifols, S.A. in its acquisition of Talecris Biotherapeutics Holdings Corp., as well as the proposed merger of DuPont’s agricultural subsidiary Pioneer Hi-Bred with Pannar Seed in South Africa. Also noted was the analysis that Bates White presented to DOJ on behalf of SGL Carbon SE in connection with the potential anticompetitive effects and increased risk of collusion following the sale of Seadrift Coke L.P. to GrafTech International, Ltd. In addition, Global Competition Review referenced Bates White’s current work in the TFT-LCD andUrethanes antitrust cases, as well as a price-fixing case in the nutrition industry. Finally, the profile highlighted Bates White’s analysis and assistance with the FTC’s second request on behalf of a healthcare services provider in connection with its proposed acquisition of a competitor.
