Respecting diverse skills | Boris, Partner

Boris, Senior ManagerA strength of Bates White—and a source of great satisfaction to me personally—is the value placed on diversity, whether in terms of education, skills, or experience. In my case, I specialized in accounting and finance in business school and subsequently held a variety of related positions in industry and government. Consequently, on joining the firm I was concerned with how my background and experience would be viewed by my colleagues, many of whom hold Ph.D.s in Economics.

These concerns turned out to be unwarranted. From the very first day on the job, my contributions were enthusiastically embraced. Moreover, I have found the opportunities available to me here are limited only by the boundaries of my own personal interests, desires, and ambition.

In brief, our culture is one that truly encourages, promotes, and rewards the sharing of academic, functional, and industry knowledge and perspectives. Equally important, it is a two-way street. Even as I strive to share my knowledge with our Consultants, I am constantly learning from them as well.

M.M., Management, with specialization in Accounting and Finance, J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University; B.S., Finance, DePaul University; B.M., Applied Music, with emphasis in trumpet performance, DePaul University; Certification in Distressed Business Valuation, (C.D.B.V.), Association of Insolvency & Restructuring Advisors
