On professional development | Erin, Consultant

Erin, ConsultantOne of the most impressive aspects of Bates White is its commitment to staff development. Not only does the firm allow employees to explore academic interests, but it also encourages these pursuits. For example, Bates White offers a Game Theory class, taught by a manager who also teaches the course at George Washington University.

For me, the Game Theory class has been beneficial in a number of ways. First, it has given me new ways to approach issues we tackle in everyday antitrust work. Second, the student mix is one of consultants and managers from all different practice areas of the firm. The class has given me exposure to people and ideas I would not otherwise be able to easily access. Third, it gives consultants an additional view into some of the more theoretical aspects of the cases in which Bates White is involved.

As a recent college graduate, it is great to work in an environment that encourages its employees to continue an academic exploration. Bates White's dedication to staff development is truly one of the most rewarding aspects of working at this firm.
