Bates White is recognized by leading academics and professionals as a premier place to work. The firm provides training and mentoring, supports intellectual freedom, and encourages innovation—all of which are critical in solving the complex challenges that face legal, business, and government decision makers. Our reputation for quality is a result of this culture and some of the strongest academic affiliations in the business.
Since Bates White’s founding in 1999, we have grown from five entrepreneurs to a firm of more than 150 professionals. Our founders envisioned a hands-on workplace where creativity is nurtured, diversity is respected, and ingenuity is rewarded. Even as we grow, we will continue to manifest that vision.
This approach carries over to our relationships with clients. We work closely with them from the earliest stages of a project and continue to do so until delivery, whether that is a trial, regulatory proceeding, or other course of action. All along the way, we deliver clear, comprehensive answers to complex questions. We help our clients make informed decisions that lead to positive outcomes.
Continuous learning
Mentoring and training are important to personal success. Our programs enhance professional development and help employees achieve their goals.
Dedicated mentoring
Training sessions and seminars, some taught by leading academics, further enhance each person’s ability to deliver results. Flexible, individualized training may also include graduate and undergraduate courses, seminars, and conferences that expand knowledge and improve technical skills.
We pair each employee with a Peer Coach who helps ensure a smooth transition. All new employees are assigned Sponsors who provide mentoring and help them manage their careers at the firm.
